First of all, let me tell you how difficult it was to choose just four dog photos from all the great shots you submitted over the past few weeks. While I very much enjoyed looking at all your dogs having a blast outside, whittling the selection down was really, really tough.
But, without further ado, here are the four winning pups of this week’s Photo Friday:
First up is Rebel, whose people Rob and Tam have only recently discovered hiking but have a ton of enthusiasm for it! Rebel accompanies them on almost every hike and always looks like he’s having a blast.
Tally and her person Tonya also love hitting the trail together. Here they are celebrating Tonya’s birthday and the 4th of July up near Thousand Island Lake in the Ansel Adams Wilderness.
We’ve featured a lot of the Wandering Caveman‘s photos on Photo Friday before – but we think this is the first time we’ve seen his dog Ludo in action. Ludo, like any good dog, loves running through the water … and surely every dog-lover has stood too close to their puppy when something like this happens:
And finally, don’t think we’ve left the small dogs out on this one — seeming Instagram crowd favorite Nacho is seen here hitching a backpacking ride with his person, Mike. As someone who has had to take turns carrying Emmy the Modern Hiker Pitbull off a the trail when she decided she’d had enough hiking for one day, I can totally sympathize with you, Mike.
All four featured photographers will be getting a dog backpack from our friends at Kurgo. Don’t forget, Kurgo is still accepting applications for their $5000 Adventure Sponsorship, too! If you do end up submitting and make it to the finalists, be sure to let us know so we can rally your fellow Modern Hikers to cheer you on.
Get your photos featured on Modern Hiker by tagging them with #modernhiker on Instagram or Twitter, or by posting them to our Flickr group.
Kurgo provided the prizes for this week’s Photo Friday, as well as compensation to Modern Hiker for promoting their contest. Kurgo did not choose the winners of this week’s Photo Friday nor did they influence the editorial tone of their sponsored posts in any way. Featured Photo courtesy of Kurgo.
