Photo Friday – March 21, 2014

If you’re staring at the office clock even more intently than you usually do, that means it’s a Friday – which means it’s also time to dive into the growing and increasingly awesome collection of images submitted to the Modern Hiker Flickr Pool for another Photo Friday.

Nathan and Katherine from NateKat Photography have submitted some truly fantastic images so far, but I really dug their epic group shot near the Quaking Aspen Campground in the Sierras.

Friends

I’ve been feeling the desert calling me this week (and I’m heading out there tomorrow), so I was already in the mood for a great desert shot when contributing writer Shawnté‘s shot from Red Rock State Park on the way up to the Sierras. This park has been on my to-hike list for too long!

Keri Zehm is doing a great job of capturing the beauty of the hills near Riverside, and this sunset shot near Box Springs is a perfect example:

And rounding out this week’s Photo Friday is a winter shot in Yosemite National Park from Julie Boyd, who’s got a ton of other great Yosemite photographs on her page. Hopefully we’ll get some wet weather next winter and we’ll get to see the park looking like this again soon:

As always, fantastic shots, everyone! I love that people are getting into this as much as I am – and thanks for the inspiration to get outside this weekend!

Remember to contribute your own outdoor / hiking photos to the Modern Hiker Flickr Group for next week’s Photo Friday!
