Deep within the sprawl of Los Angeles, the Puente and Chino Hills rise above as an invaluable string of green space for people and a treasured wildlife corridor bridging the gap to the Santa Ana Mountains. Many of these trails are the result of the region having the country’s largest landfill – which is now being turned into a park in an effort to restore and preserve native habitat. Best hiked in the winter and spring when the grass is green, on clear days this region has some of the absolute best views in all of Southern California.
