… so one of the other things I did after I got home from that Islip hike was to book a camp site in Yosemite in a few weeks, as part of a planned Yosemite-Bodie-Mono Lake-Devil’s Postpile-Manzanar trip. I haven’t been to Yosemite in years, and I’m really looking forward to just kicking back and exploring some of the side-trails at a relaxed pace (last time I was there I did Yosemite Falls and the Mist Trail, which were both amazing but crazy crowded).
Happily, I also stumbled on a the Yosemite Explorer, after reading a short article on the duo behind the site at DSD’s Summit Stones and Adventure Musings. From just a cursory browsing of the site, I can already tell it’s a great resource for anyone looking to make the trek to our nation’s Second National Park. There are tons of pictures, up to date news stories, and a list of recommended hikes with detailed directions and descriptions, which I will definitely be poring over the next few weeks.
I will, of course, also take trail suggestions from Modern Hiker readers!
