Maybe you don’t have time to hike the Pacific Crest Trail, but if you’ve got a few hours next weekend you can help restore and repair it!
On Saturday, September 25th, several volunteer groups will meet at Little Jimmy Campground for some restoration work on the Pacific Crest Trail – AND, if you want, they’re allowing you to car-camp in the campground that Friday night, so you can turn it into a combo work and pleasure weekend.
If you’re headed up Saturday, there’s a meeting place for rideshares in Sunland at 6:45AM. Tools and instructions will be provided for you, but you should bring your own water and lunch, and wear boots, long sleeves and pants, and gloves.
Volunteers are asked to RSVP this week, which is why I’m writing about it now. Contact info is listed below – and be sure to let them know if you’re interested in camping out the night before. Most of the time, these trailwork events are over by 3PM. Please contact:
