The Hike Guy Kolby Kirk (formerly the 100 Hikes Guy Kolby Kirk) is moving north – and taking the extra scenic route.

After being laid off from his job, Kolby did what I’m sure many of us would have done in a similar situation – he decided to hike the Pacific Crest Trail.

Thankfully, Kolby will be keeping us updated on his adventures on his new PCT blog and on a new Twitter account, so those of us who want to live vicariously can still do so. Along the way, Kolby will also be fundraising for the Soles4Souls charity.

Donate if you can and be sure to follow the new blog for updates. We’ll miss having Kolby down here preaching the wonders of our SoCal trails, but I’m looking forward to hearing about his thru-hiking adventures (and hopefully joining up with him for a stretch of trail nearby, too!).
