Yes, the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve says they’re at their peak now, but they also say it’s going to be a moderate to poor year at best.
I just got back from the Pinnacles National Monument, where I swear I felt like I was walking through a giant Ricola ad – blankets of full bloomin’ fragrant blossoms as far as the eye could see:
But you don’t even have to go that far — on the drive up, I had to pull off the 5 in Gorman to snap a few photos of their colorful hills:
I hate to say it … but I think those NorCal’ers got us beat on the wildflower show … at least for this time of the year.
