Although today we’ve had a nice respite into something the rest of the world calls “weather,” the forecast looks like the skies are going to be clearing up tomorrow and into the weekend – so I figured now would be a good time to link to an older post of mine highlighting some of the best post-rain hikes here in Los Angeles.

For those of you new to hiking here, usually the first day or two after a rain storm is an absolutely gorgeous time to take a hike – not only does the rain smell fantastic on the trail and give you a chance to get those boots good ‘n’ muddy, but it also scrubs the air clean, leading to nonstop panoramic views. It’s usually a bit better further into the winter, but tomorrow afternoon it looks like the sun is coming back to SoCal, so it might be a good time to call in sick and check out a quick local viewpoint – so read up on my suggestions and some excellent additions from readers.
