Just a quick note to let you know the Antelope Valley Poppy Preserve is currently in peak bloom.
The LAist has a post with all the details, but apparently the time to see massive carpets of orange flowers is RIGHT. NOW.
I was out in Point Mugu State Park this weekend, and while there were a few colorful patches on display (and lots of bright green grass), the flowers there look like they may need a little bit more time to warm up for a big show.
