Photo Friday – May 16, 2014

It’s hot.

Oh man, it’s hot.

Thankfully today isn’t quite as hot as yesterday – and it looks like we’ll be cooling down even more over the weekend and into next week, but that doesn’t mean we aren’t all wishing for a little warm weather relief right now … so for this week’s Photo Friday I dug back into the Flickr Pool archive to find some cooling imagery to help you make it through the day – especially if you don’t have air conditioning.

We’ll start things off with Alexander Fitch, who once again delivered some epic shots of alpine lakes including this shot of Crystal Lake near Mammoth Lakes:

Sumisu Yoshi delivered this very refreshing-looking shot of Sturtevant Falls from a few years ago. The water levels certainly didn’t look that inviting when I was there back in December, but it’s still a great place to cool down!

For the third week in a row, Peter Wirsching finds himself on the Photo Friday list with this chilly photo of Charlton Flats right here in the Angeles National Forest.

And finally – in this image taken just a month and a half agoMikey Le shows off the snowy start to a crisp-looking trail.

Don’t forget to get YOUR submissions in to the Modern Hiker Flickr Pool! It’s a great way to check out some other inspiring outdoor photography and hey – who doesn’t like looking at awesome landscapes before the weekend kicks in?
