The Modern Hiker Flickr Group has been very active lately, which makes this a perfect time to show off some the really great photographs people have been contributing.
Of course, we finally had some rain over the last weekend – and it seems a lot of you took my advice to get outside for some clear skies and running water. Hopefully these shots will help motivate you to get out onto a trail this weekend (just watch out for Marathon street closures!)
Jon Bradley trekked up the east side of Cucamonga Peak, where the high elevations and cooler temperatures let some of that rain stick around in the form of snow.
Scott Turner has contributed some awesome photos in the group so far. I’m not sure where this shot was taken, but the fog and pine trees make this look more like the Pacific Northwest than Southern California.
Mikey Le took advantage of the clear skies to head to Sandstone Peak to become the tallest thing in the Santa Monica Mountains – even if only for a minute or two.
And it looks like Jared Wilson went to Trail Canyon to catch some water spilling over the cliffside.
Keep the great photos coming – and I’ll highlight some more favorites next week!
