Hopefully you don’t need that much inspiration to get outside this weekend, but the pics from this week’s Photo Friday should more than get you through the rest of the day if you’re stuck in an office.
First up, we have a moody shot of a lupin along the trail to Mount Islip caught by dukeredhair.
… which is followed closely by the always incredible photography of Nate and Kat – this week it’s a great image of hikers going through the Mueller Tunnel, maybe on their way to Mount Markham, Mount Lowe, or San Gabriel Peak.
Our San Diego Contributor Scott Turner has been VERY busy lately – not only is he submitting some fantastic write-ups for trails all across the state, but he’s also showing off his macro lens with this awesome shot of a butterfly at rest.
And finally, Ryan McKinney submitted this photo of a fantastic winter camp site. It looks like it’s got everything you need – a bedroll, whiskey, wine, beer, and a comfortable stump.
Thanks to everyone who keeps submitting to the Modern Hiker Flickr Pool – there are so many great shots in there now that it’s getting really hard for me to pick my favorites every week!
