One City, One Hike – Santa Maria’s Point Sal Trail

This is the first edition of Modern Hiker’s “One City, One Hike” feature. The idea behind the series is to provide our readers with a quick and easy video guides to can’t miss hikes around the world. Special thanks to the Santa Maria Valley for making the first episode of “One City, One Hike” possible and to Jonathan Legg, a friend of Modern Hiker and host of the show “Road Less Traveled” for hosting.

In our first episode we tackle the Point Sal Trail in Santa Maria Valley. This trail is a 9.8 mile, moderate out and back that climbs over rolling hills before descending 1,200 feet to a secluded beach below. Once at the beach, return the way you came.

Thanks for watching and enjoy Modern Hiker’s first “One City, One Hike”.
