san antonio and harwood 014 This week, Team Modern Hiker was mentioned in an article in Rock and Ice Magazine as part of our charity hike to Mount Baldy for the Climb Up So Kids Can Grow Up program.

Things are shaping up very well for the hike so far – we’ve got 13 sponsored hikers (and two sponsoring friends along for the ride), and have raised over $1300! Yay!

There is still a week left to sponsor a hiker on our team, and even a couple of bucks would help us out. We apparently have our fair share of strong fundraisers on Team Modern Hiker, but a few of us could use a little boost – so if you can, please give. The biggest fundraiser will win a pair of free hiking boots, so root for your favorite hiker, or just whoever has the best picture or write-up.

Thank you to everyone who’s chipped in already, and especially to the hikers who will join me next weekend in what is currently forecast to be an especially hot day!
