On the hottest day recorded so far this year in the Angeles National Forest, the Forest Service is reporting several new wildfires that have sprung up, including:
– a small fire near the tunnels to Mount Baldy Village
– the 5-10 acre Oak Fire, north of Castaic
– the 30-50 acre Marshall Fire, near Marshall Canyon County Park.
The Inciweb site, which usually has very comprehensive information about wildfires, has not yet been updated on these new blazes. While most of them seem to be under control or on their way to being under control, be sure to check the Angeles National Forest twitter feed for the most up-to-date fire information around.
