Last week, a female hiker was attacked in Ernest E. Debs Park while hiking alone in the morning. The woman said the man knocked her to the ground and threatened her with a knife before running off. Many in the community have noted the behavior of the suspect is very similar to attacks that happened to solo hikers in Griffith Park earlier this year.
There will be an informal community meeting this Saturday, August 2nd at 10AM at Trails Cafe just inside the Park’s Los Feliz Boulevard entrance. This is an open meeting to discuss the recent events and ways solo hikers and joggers can enjoy their favorite trails while remaining safe. Kids and dogs are welcome.
