Unless bears have now also joined many humans in having a voracious appetite for things Designed By Apple in California, you probably don’t have to worry about them starting to go after your iPad in the woods – but if you do want to bring your tablet computer to an area known to be frequented by black bears, you might not want to leave it near your food – or you might end up like Jesse Dinkel did at Jenks Lake this weekend:

Remember, if you’re in bear country – especially in an area with heavy bear activity – make sure any gear you’re camping near with is completely devoid of anything scented (including stuff like toothpaste and deodorant), use a bear canister if you’re staying overnight, and if you’ve got stuff that does smell like food and you don’t want it to get swiped while you’re awake – just keep it nearby.
