… looks like I wasn’t the only one palling around Mugu Peak recently. Reader Pete Warren wrote in to point me to a great description of an overnight at the trail camp he did last year (complete with trail martinis). He’s got some great logistical info for planning a backpack there, too — like parking tips and phone numbers for more information.
Also today, law student (and new backpacker! welcome!) who runs the personal blog Road to Xibalba posted a first-person account of his overnight in the park … complete with a strange aural run-in with some distant speaking-in-tongues types.
Both are worth checking out if you want to get an idea of what it’s like to camp out there. Although hopefully, you won’t have any experiences with strange religious folks.
