The City of Glendale is currently accepting volunteers for its Trail Safety Patrol. If you’d like to give back a little something to the local mountains, they’re holding an all-day training seminar this Saturday, December 8th at the Glendale Police Department at 131 N. Isabel Street in Glendale.
If you join the Patrol, you’ll assist city officials in educating visitors of Glendale parks and reporting trail damage and emergencies. You’ll have to devote at least 4 hours a month and be able to hike a 6.2 mile trail in the Verdugo Mountains in under two and a half hours.
Volunteers must also be 18 years of age, provide a letter from a physician saying they’re good to hike, submit a volunteer application (available at the police station on Saturday), and attend monthly patrol meetings.
