A bit of good news out of the Williams Fire today – thanks to increased humidity and a bit of rain yesterday, the 4,180-acre fire is now 44% contained. The LA Times reported that evacuated residents were allowed back to their homes this morning – and any campers who were evacuated will be allowed back in to retrieve any lost gear this weekend after confirming their ID with law enforcement.
Inciweb has updated the incident page for the Williams Fire – and you can see just how close this thing is to the Bridge to Nowhere trail. The entire canyon is still off-limits until further notice, but it’s starting to look like at the very least the Bridge to Nowhere Trail will be spared.
