For those interested in urban hiking, public staircases and rights of way, or just good ol’ fashioned L.A. history, mark this weekend as the date of this year’s Big Parade L.A.
An annual trek from downtown Los Angeles to the Hollywood Sign, the Big Parade is a two day, 40-ish mile route through the city … and if that sounds exhausting, don’t worry – the route is designed to allow people to hop on and off throughout so you can do as much or as little as you’d like.
I joined the group last year for the first day and I can honestly say it was one of the best things I’ve done since moving here.
For more info, be sure to check out the Big Parade LA’s site or join their Facebook page.
Unfortunately I’ll be in Yosemite this weekend (OK, not that unfortunate), but otherwise I’d definitely join up! Have fun if you attend … and schedule a foot massage for the next day. You’re gonna need it if you do the whole route.
