The fine folks at yourLUME have kindly agreed to sponsor a contest on Modern Hiker in honor of National Parks Week and Earth Day … and you have the chance to win a shiny new Zeta 2-person tent from Sierra Designs!

Entering is super easy. All you have to do is post a short entry in the comments section of this post, telling us about a great moment you’ve had in nature out here in Southern California. It can be the discovery of a great trail, a backpacking mistake that taught you a lesson, your first time hiking in the San Gabriels, an inspirational peak-bag where everything just clicked – whatever you want. Try to keep them fairly short – under 300 words.

You have until noon local time on Monday, April 25th. After that, I’ll read through the submissions and pick the winner, then the guys at yourLUME will get in touch with you to deliver the prize.

I’m sure there’s a bunch of legalese, but basically common sense rules prevail. One entry per person, be sure to comment with your email address so I know how to get in touch with you, etc. I am the only judge, I’m not getting any compensation from yourLUME or Sierra Designs for this contest, and I promise not to award the prize to a family member or personal friend (sorry guys).
