Looking to get your hands dirty this weekend? The US Forest Service is hosting a trailbuilding event at Mount Wilson this Saturday, June 5th!
As part of National Trails Day, the Forest Service will lead a team on trail maintenance from 8AM to 2PM from the summit of Mount Wilson. Workers of all ability levels are welcome, and tools, materials, and lunch and drinks will be provided. You should bring your own work clothes, including boots, gloves, and a broad-rimmed hat.
Because the lower Angeles Crest Highway is closed, you’ll have to enter the Forest through Big Tujunga Canyon. From Sunland, proceed east up Big Tujunga Canyon Road approximately 12 miles; N on Angeles Forest Highway 4.6 miles; east 9.1 miles on Upper Big Tujunga Road; west 4.3 miles on Angeles Crest Highway to Red Box; south up the Mt. Wilson Road to Mt. Wilson-Skyline Park.
