Bay Area hiker and photographer Kevin Haas came back from Big Basin Redwoods State Park, and the following weekend noticed he had what appear to be two coastal redwood sprouts growing out of his hiking boot.

I guess this is what they mean when they say a little piece of the forest always comes back with you.
