On Friday, a freak rainstorm dumped 1-2 inches of rain in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest, offering up a preview of what will most likely be a much more common scene this rainy season – mudslides.
According to the LA Times blog, a few streets were closed and some messes were made, but overall damages were very small.
Still, this is a reminder of the fragile state the Angeles National Forest is in right now – and why it’s still off limits. Were any foothill residents caught in the mud? It barely drizzled in my neck of the woods, so I didn’t even know we got rain until I read about it!
