With about 15 days left in our crowdfunding campaign to not only make the site bigger and better but also build a custom search engine to help you find whatever kind of trail you’re looking for in a matter of seconds, we have officially raised over $17,000 from more than 220 contributors.
We figured this was something to celebrate … so we’re adding a bunch of new perks for everyone who donates to help improve the online hiking experience for everyone across the American West. We’re really excited to now offer:

In addition to adding these new perks, we’re also encouraging more people to donate by dropping the prices and adding things to our existing perks.
Now when you pick up the Grand Explorer perk at $100, you’ll not only snag a limited number of Adventure 16 gift cards and patch (along with lots of other Modern Hiker limited-edition campaign goodies), but you’ll also pick up a signed outdoor photograph from one of the Modern Hiker crew.
Donating at the $400 Pack Mule level will now provide you with some delicious Greenbelly Meal Bars in addition to a totally custom-designed backpack from JepPaks.
We’ve also dropped the price of the Deep Valley Master perk (an overnight backcountry backpacking trip in the San Gabriels) a full 50% and our Grand Camper 2-night car-camping trip 40%.
