I don’t know if you’ve ever tried to search for trail info on county park sites, but let’s just say the experience can leave you somewhat … empty-handed. Thankfully, it seems L.A. County is finally getting around to fixing that.
As part of an ongoing effort to make it easier to find information about outdoor recreation, Los Angeles County just launched a new web site that offers lots of great info on 367 miles of trails. The County also announced plans to create a mobile version of the site and standalone mobile app sometime in 2015.
The site will give you a brief description of trails, allow you to download GPX and KML files, get driving directions, and also download PDF trail maps.
We here at Modern Hiker are very pleased to see the County start to offer this information in an easily digestible format and we hope it helps more Southern Californians get outside and enjoy our hiking and biking trails!
