Inyo National Forest

The favorite stomping grounds of John Muir, Inyo National Forest is home to some of the most breathtaking landscapes in the country – jagged peaks, glacial lakes, rushing rivers, and huge aspen groves. Stretching across both sides of the Owens Valley, this region encompasses both the Sierra Nevada – where you can climb Mount Whitney and claim the tallest summit in the Lower 48 – as well as the White Mountains – where you can hike among some of the oldest living things on the planet.
